DIY Lavender Bath Bombs

We're baaaaack! This is the first post of a 3 part DIY Bride series! I'm really exciting about this one! Melissa from Forever and a Day Events has created a beautiful DIY gift basket to present to your bridal party, mother-in-law, grandmother...or really any lady in your life!

In the first part of this series, we are creating homemade Lavender Bath Bombs! These are all the rage right now, as they make going to the spa come to life right at home. Your ladies will love how aromatic and conditioning they are for the skin! These are so simple to make too. I recommend doubling the recipe and saving a few for yourself!

Lavender Bath Bomb Supplies
1/2 cup citric acid
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 cup baking soda
8-10 drops lavender essential oil
tablespoon coconut oil
teaspoon of water (*note- be careful not to add too much or you'll ruin your bath bombs!)
bath bomb mold (these work too are are half the price!)
large mixing bowl
whisk
blue and red food coloring

Directions
Mix solid ingredients.  Then melt coconut oil in microwave for 1 minute, melt times may vary (Melissa used solid coconut oil instead of liquid as she thought it helped keep its form when hardened).  Add coconut oil and water to dry ingredients, mix thoroughly. Melissa found it easier to mix with my hands at the end.  Mix in blue and red food coloring to get desired shade of purple.

Fill each side of the mold, making sure to pack firmly and adding extra of the mixture so that the two molds are able to stick together.  Press the two sides together firmly.  Allow mold to set for a few minutes, slowly pull each side off.
