Quaint Backyard Summer Elopement | Grand Rapids, Michigan
Lori & Tom
Like most of my 2020 couples, Lori & Tom were faced with some challenging decisions regarding their wedding…like if it was even going to happen. Ultimately they decided to keep their original wedding date, but instead plan a small intimate elopement-style celebration with immediate family. Tom’s family opened up their yard for a quaint dinner under a white tent. The setting was just beautiful. Lori is in the wedding industry as a planner, so you can imagine all the little details sprinkled throughout their day were curated to perfection.
I loved all the personal touches they included, such as their Grandmother’s key fastened to Tom’s boutonnière, Lori wearing her Mom’s veil, and the beautiful handmade brooch bouquet adorned with hand selected brooch’s from Lori’s friends & family.
Beautiful day. Beautiful couple. I’m so glad they were able to tie the knot and enjoy some much needed laughs (and cocktails!).
Next year they’re planning a larger party, where they will be joined with extended family & friends, renew their vows, and celebrate at their original venue, CityFlats. Looking forward to capturing it all again on a larger scale!
